Questions About My Website:

1) Can I put one of your movies on my website, or host it on another site (such as putfile or youtube) under my account? Even if I give you full credit?
I prefer that you not add my movies to any other sites without my express permission, even if I am given full credit. I spend a lot of time and energy on my movies and if I add it to any site other than my own, I put it up where I feel best about showing it. If I want it added to a site such as YouTube, I will add it there myself.

2) Will you add a link to my fansite on your links page?
I would be happy to add a link to your site from mine. All you have to do is send me a letter with your full web address and a link button with a width of 88 pixels and a height of 31 pixels. If you don't have a button, I would be happy to add a text link instead. You can email me at carisa-at-pulsarfilms.com (replace -at- with the @ symbol).

3) How do you make the posters you use with your movies and your website's banner?
All the graphics I use on my site like my posters and the banner are made using a graphics program called Paint Shop Pro (PSP). I take screenshots from within my Sims2 game and open them in PSP and then alter them to make it look however I want. Usually I have to cut apart several screenshots and combine them into one image to make posters for each of my movies. PSP is an easy program to use and it has a lot of features that can help you make your own graphics. They offer a 30 day free trial download of it online.

Questions About Movies:

5) I can't figure out how to get rid of the thought bubbles and plumbbob that are over my sims' heads when I film.
If you have the Nightlife ep and/or the Open FOr Buisness ep, the game makers have given us cheats to get rid of thought bubbles and the plumbbob. Enter cntrl + shift + c to open the cheat window and insert these cheats exactley as you see them. They are "showHeadlines off" for NL and "Plumbbobtoggle off" for OFB. If you don't have one of these ep's, its just a matter of choosing angles that cut off the area above a sims head so that when they do have thought bubbles pop up, you cant see them on the screen. Move your camera angle lower than normal. And for the plumbob, all you need to do is select a sim that wont be in the scene of the movie to 'hold' the plumbob before you start filming.

6) How do you get your sims to talk?
You can't actually make your Sims talk in the game. What you do for movies, is use a microphone to record your voice saying the lines that you want the Sims in your movies to say. Then, inside your editor you place the file of your voice in the audio track of your editor underneath the clip of the Sims in the scene that those words are being said. That way, when someone watches your movie, it looks as if the Sims are really talking and saying their lines.

7) How do you make Sims and other objects fade away?
How do you make Sims/objects fade away? (Return to top) Making sims and objects in the game fade away is really pretty easy to do in camera man mode. First, you're going to want to use a saved camera angle. Do by hitting CONTROL and 4-9 at the same time to save your cameras position. Then, when you are ready to return to that angle, jus hit the number key that is associated with the angle you saved. First thing to do is decide on who/what you want to fade away. For example, say I want a Sim standing in front of a house to fade away, first I would choose my camera angle and save it. Then, I would film the Sim standing outside the house. Next, I would remove the Sim from the scene and go back to the saved camera angle and film the house again, with no sim this time. Then in my movie editor, I add the first shot with the sim and then add the second shot without the sim after it. Then all there is to do is to overlap the begining of the second shot over the end of the first shot and you can watch the sim fade away.

8) Where can I host my movies for free?
There are several websites out there that allow you to host your movies. Check out sites like Savefile, Putfile, YouTube, and RapidShare to see which ones you like. These sites dont cost you anything and make convenient places to store your movies.

9) Where did you get that great red sweater from that is in your "Sway" movie?
For a long time now I have gotten asked where I found this particular piece of clothing from, so I thought I would share it here so you can download and use it yourself. The sweater was made by Tiramisu and can be found on the Simply Styling website.

10)How did you get broken items from the OFB crafting stations in your "Settle the Score" movie?
I used a collection that was made by windkeeper from ModTheSims2 called OFB Craft Objects Collections that allows you to buy all of the items that your sims make at the crafting staions. Even items in the broken state!
